Founded by John DeLorean in 1975 the DeLorean DMC was manufactured in the United States. The famed stainless steel DeLorean DMC-12 was featured in the Back to the Future movie converting into a time machine by mad scientist Doc Brown and driven by actor Michael J. Fox who played the role of Marty McFly. After filing for bankruptcy in 1982 founder John DeLorean attempted to resurrect the DeLorean brand but ran into legal issues that prevented the re-launch. The current DeLorean Motor Company in Houston, Texas is not associated with the original company but supports owners of DeLorean cars and dealerships located in Huntington Beach, California, Crystal Lake Illinois, Bellevue, Washington, Bonita Springs, Florida and The Netherlands.
